An excellent VICTORIAN OIL ON CANVAS PAINTING OF "SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS WITH CATTLE AT LOCH SIDE" c 1890's by LISTED VICTORIAN BRITISH ARTIST F.WALTERS. This painting is of the highest quality and is typical of F.WALTERS works. He was well known for his SCOTTISH LANDSCAPES but it was his paintings of HIGHLAND CATTLE with THE HIGHLANDS and LOCHS in the background that were most desirable. This painting is the 2nd one of a pair that I am offering for sale, the 1st one is already on, if anyone is interested in the pair please let me know. This painting is in excellent condition, it is housed in its original period ornate gilt frame, there has been 2 very minor pieces of restoration, these have been professionally done and are not noticeable from the front, there are a couple of patches to the back of the canvas. Framed size is 38ins x 28ins, canvas size is 30ins x 20ins. F.WALTERS is listed on ARTNET, ASK ART, ART INFO etc. His paintings are well sought after, mainly because of the subject matter and the depth and quality of his painting.
