This is an old classical figure which I have been told may be parian ware or bisque [ but I do not know the difference]. What I can say is it seems to be a white pottery / china of some kind and seems quite delicate. The figure is of a young lady, classical in look with flowing robes [ a Greek maiden?] and stands 13 inches tall. There is no damage or cracks. I cannot see a signature or name. The figure appears to be glued to the base for safe keeping. The figure is housed under an antique glass dome that stands on a gilt wooden base with 3 bun feet beneath. When the dome is on, the piece measures 13.5 inches tall.On the base there is a covering of old material [ 2 types ]. One of these bits is loose and I have tried to show this in the photos. There is no damage to the glass or the gilt base. It is a very decorative item indeed and looks great. Even if you just needed an original glass dome and had the figurine seperate it would look good. A nice original item. Please feel free to e mail any questions and take a look at my other varied and interesting items I have on offer.
