Rare Old Antique Phra 'Nak Prok' Meditating on Snake Northern Thai Collectible Buddha Amulet Statue.Size: 2.8inches height, 1.5inches wide.The Nagas are known for protecting the Buddha and other spiritual victors. This pose represents a time during the sixth week after Siddhartha's Enlightenment, when the naga king protected the meditating Buddha against heavy rainfall by making a shelter with his multi-headed hood and lifted him above the flood waters by coiling its body under him. Thai people believe that the image of Nagas are extremely powerful in making the owner safe from any harmful thing. It also keeps away bad or evil spirits. Nagas are the amulet for protection of dangerous and harmful thing.
