Very nice antique police badge from the Salt Lake City Police Department, with a number "8" in the center of the brass star. Nickel or chrome plated body with separate brass star soldered in center. Hand engraved borders. Pin back retainer is missing the catch at the bottom. Marked on the back top edge:"Salt Lake Stamp Co.". Shows wear from polishing and use. Some light flaking to the plating in a couple of areas. Probably dates from 1890's to 1920's. Badge measures approx. 2" wide by 2.5" tall. NOTE: This is an obsolete type badge, no longer in use, and is over 75 years old. It conforms to eBay's guidelines for obsolete badge listings.
