Offered here is a very attractive pair of bronze clad bookends: Cockatoo on the world atlas. Theae were manufactured by the Pompeian Bronze Company in New York Circa 1920s. Construction is bronze clad. There is age appropriate wear to the paint and there are a number of dings as a result of the 10+ pounds of weight. These are very sturdy bookends. If you look at the crown on the cockatoos head you'll see that they are bent. I have seen sets with these are smashed completely flat and yet the bronze cladding did not crack.
