DESCRIPTION:Excellent antique trinket box with Victorian nurse or mother and her child. The nurse/mother has a long white hat that covers the back of her hair and her dress is white except the bodice which is a wine color. The child is petting a little lamb that is trying to crawl on the child's lap. It looks like this nurse/mother is cuddling a sick child and the lamb is t for comfort. T are no marks on this box, but it is very similar to the Conta Boehme trinket boxes on page 125 of Janice and Roger Vogel book, Victorian Trinker Boxes. The details on this box are so wonderful. It's my guess that this box was made between 1840 to 1860. The box measures 2 3/4 inches long, 1 3/4 inches wide and 3 inches tall. CONDITION: This is in very good condition with a little paint rubbing in places and a small chip on the bottom of the box. I am not an antique professional, but I have tried to describe this box to the best of my ability. SHIPPING AND HANDLING: I prefer money orders or personal checks, but I do accept PayPal. Payment due in 72 hours after auction end or 7 days if payment mailed. My shipping is very professional and I wrap every thing in bubble wrap or other safe shipping materials and double box when necessary. INSURANCE IS REQUIRED AND INCLUDED IN THE SHIPPING COST. SHIPPING DISCOUNTS FOR MORE THAN ONE ITEM.
