Lovely antique primitive yellowware food mold, with a deeply incised grape motif. Heavy and large, no maker but most likely American. Late 1800s is my best guess.Used for jellies, aspics, puddings, but also baked in which is probably how it got the crazing you see. One pea sized flake off the bottom foot, and one match head sized chip out of one short end top rim. You can see a fissure in the bottom as well. None of these are unexpected, and it still displays very well.I used to have a huge collection of these, and showed them on a shelf, on their side, anchored with what was something used to secure pieces in case or hurricane ... almost like a silly putty.Measures 8" long, 5" wide, and is 3-1/2" tall.See for yourself!inkFrog Analytics
