This is a restored and working Philco Model 46-250 tube AM radio introduced in 1946. This 5 tube radio looks very good and receives stations very well with clarity and volume. The chassis has been thoroughly cleaned; the volume control switch deoxidized; all moving controls lubricated and the radio has no foul odors. All old electrolytic and wax capacitors in the chassis have been replaced with new modern capacitors and all resistors and wiring checked. All 5 tubes have been tested and questionable tubes have been replaced. The line cord has been replaced with a brand new 18 gauge cord with molded polarized plug and the speaker is in good condition. The radio has been bench tested for days and should continue to play loud and clear for years. The case has been thoroughly washed and buffed. The 70 year old radio case has no missing chips but had 2 cracks. One crack on the bottom has been strengthened with a metal plate epoxied inside as shown in the photos. Another crack on the back of the top has also been epoxied inside the case and the case is now quite stable and the blemishes are hardly noticeable. When the radio is turned on a pilot bulb lights the station dial which is showing some paint flaking. The original label with tube location is still on the bottom and in good condition. The radio size is approximately 7¼" high by 11½"
