Antique Roman Figural Bookends Kathodian Bronze Works NYC 1900's You are bidding on this very large pair of antique roman figural bookends mande by the Kathodian Bronze Works Co. in New York City They where in business between 1900 - 1916 Their mark is on the back of each bookend which is KBW and ArtBonz These bookends are bronze clad over plaster and nicely detailed Bronze clad bookends were popular until the 1930's and obviously designed to save money, electroplating plaster was a very complicated process that started with a molded plaster object that was encapulated in bronze. Condition - good, no cracks or chips some very minor wear. On the curved area under one of the chairs there are two small spots about 3/8 inches long of cladding that is missing. There is felt missing on the bottom of one bookend they are a little on the dark side and need to be cleaned Size - 11- inches tall x 7-1/2 inches wide x 5-1/2 inches deep these bookends weigh 10-1/2 lbs. each Please let me say again that these bookends are very large Please See Photos (No International Shipping) Thanks For Looking
