Antique Barr Flight Worcester Fine Porcelain 18thC Queen Charlotte Pattern Cup These are two very attractive pieces of Barr and Flight era Worcester porcelain c1792-1804. The incised 'B' marks indicative of it being early, during the time of Martin Barr the later pieces having handpainted marks. Queen Charlotte, wife of George III was a great patron of the factory having a great love of ceramics and making many of her own acquisitions. This pattern is known as the Queen Charlotte, in her honour. It is an imari style pattern influenced by the British love of oriental ceramics. However unlike traditional imari, the iron red and royal blue are complimented with a pretty lilac pink.Condition is excellent for its age, there are no chips or cracks, minimal rubbing to gold rim, minimal fading- there are a few marks of underglaze smudging to the blue on the bottom edge of the cup. It comes from a London estate and was evidently very well cared for. It is one of a few pieces of the pattern I am selling, I would heavily reduce the postal price on multiple purchases. I have included several photographs to give you a good impression of the pieces quality and condition. Do please ask a question if you would like further descriptions of specific parts. Questions are more than welcome. Please take a look at my sellers page to find out more information read more
