ANTIQUE SANTA CLAUS SPUN COTTON CHRISTMAS TREE ORNAMENT A vintage, Victorian, German Christmas Tree Ornament of Saint Nicholas or Father Christmas. This antique ornament is made from spun cotton, over a wire frame, and a composition or clay face. The material around the edge of his coat and hat, appears to be chenille. The face is very detailed with wrinkles in his forehead and an open mouth with teeth. This old Santa Claus is quite large, measuring approximately 8" tall. For his age, he is in good condition but not without some flaws. His face still looks good with nothing broken. The belt is broken in the back and missing part, his cotton is in disarray, and one of his black cotton boots has the wire coming through. He has a wire for hanging on the top of his hat and there is an old red string attached. Despite the flaws, this is a very rare antique Spun Cotton Father Christmas to add to any collection!
