Please take a look....I have other nice rosary listed this week. This auction is for a beautiful antique seven sorrows of Mary chaplet/rosary. It is made of ebony wood with silvered polish metal medals. In place of the crucifix t is the medal of Virgin Mary Our Lady of the Sorrows with on the reverse Jesus on the Cross with Virgin Mary and other persons at his feet. Between each group of seven beads, t is a medal of Virgin Mary with each sorrow. The seven sorrows rosary consists on one Our Father and seven Hail Marys for each of the seven sorrows. The Our Father is said before each group of seven Hail Marys on the separate bead. On the three beads of the rosary at the end three Hail Marys are said in honor of the Tears of Our Sorrowful Mother. While reciting the prayers meditate upon: The First Sorrow- The Prophecy, The second Sorrow- The Flight, The Third Sorrow- The Loss, The Fourth Sorrow- The Meeting, The Fifth Sorrow- Jersus Dies, The Sixth Sorrow- Mary Receives Jesus, The Seventh Sorrow- The Burial. The rosary measures 17 inches long APPROX. Very good condition for its age with no beads missing. It has not been cleaned to keep its original patina. Nice rosary to have in a collection.
