This is a very beautiful approx antique (Edwardian era /art nouveau era 1900 to 1915 c) locket necklace. Locket is made of sterling silver with well bonded yellow gold plating on top and inside both sides of locket. Hallmarked: "STERLING". Chain is made of yellow 12K gold filled (of the rose yellow gold variety) and marked "1/20 12K". Gold plating on locket has a beautiful patina of a yellow like green hue (refered as green yellow gold) which held up very well with no notcieable wear. Has very impressive hand chased detail. It opens and shuts just fine and has 2 inner compartments for photo or what ever you choose to put inside. Measures: 1 1/4 inches tall, about 1 inch wide, and 1/8 inch deep. Chain measures: 17 3/4 inches long width link width of allittle over 1 mm. Total weighs: 6.6 grams. In excellent vintage condition.
