Based on the design of this Jambiya I believe it is Syrian. It is all steel mounted with silver koftgari designs all over the hilt and scabbard which are now worn from use . Koftgari is a process in which the steel surface is finely cross hatched with an engraving tool and the silver designs are burnished into the roughen surface . This is a primarily Middle Eastern method of decoration. I would place this as circa 1900. The steel has a nice dark age patina. The curved double-edged blade also has silver designs on it. Overall condition is excellent. The overall length is 10 " with a 6" blade. A fine Syrian Jambiya at No Reserve .I I offer a 100% guarantee. If you are not happy, return it within 14 DAYS, and I will give you a full refund. Free Shipping in the U.S. Outside the U.S., e-mail for cost estimate. I cannot ship items to Mexico or Switzerland.I do not end auctions early. I feel it is not fair to other bidders.
