ANTIQUE NUMBER 8 SIZE CAST IRON TEA/WATER KETTLE/POT This clean cast iron water/tea kettle was recently found in an estate in Hanover County, Virginia. It measures 8-1/4'' tall not including the handle x 5-3/4'' across the top lid x 7" across the bottom. It features a gatemark and a bail handle, with an embossed #8 on the bottom of the kettle and on the swivel lid. There is some light carbon on the exterior, but it remains in very good condition and is a nice example of an old circa 1880 tea kettle used to heat water on a wood stove or open hearth.
