~Tiffany Box~ This auction features an absolutely Beautiful Tiffany Studios Desk Box in the Grapevine pattern. This box is made of bronze and green with white slag glass. This glass is on the lid, base and all four sides. It is circa 1920 and you can see from the photos that it has all of the original patina. It measures app 4 1/2 inches long, 3 1/2 inches wide and about 1 3/4 inches high. The beading is gorgeous as are the four ball feet. The glass is in perfect condition, no damage. The only thing I really noticed was the little sliver or cover is not present over the rim area at the back. The hinge is perfect. This area is a little seperate piece next to the hing pin in the back. It looks like more of a little decorative piece than a funtional piece. It opens and closes perfectly. You probably would not even have noticed it at all but I did want to mention this and I also took a photo (second to the last photo). The Brass is so pretty with all of the red highlights. This piece is stamped on the base: TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK and t is also the numbers 41 on the opposite end. If you will look at the very last photo, you will see how wonderfully lighting radiates through this glass and the grapevine pattern. This photo helps to understand Tiffany's eye for beauty. These desk pieces were created with the idea of allowing the sunlight to pass through a window onto your desk pieces. He was a Magnificent and Brilliant Artist. His pieces are treasured and still being enjoyed today. Please view all 10 photographs that I have taken.
