Estate - antique Victorian - 14k rose gold / black enamel - pair buckle bracelets rare - fabulous this wonderful pair of bracelets dates most likely to the civil war era - Circa 1860 unmarked for the gold content but professionally acid tested as 14 karat gold, the gold is light rose gold , the enamel is black, the bracelets are hinged with permanent buckles, made of hollow but sturdy construction - oval shaped, decorated with delicate hand engraving on the front parts of the gold and on the hings , buckle jewelry symbolized love during the victorian era. The total weight is 34 grams or 21.9 dwt (penny weight), measure tiny bit more more than 2 &1/4 x 1 & 3/4 inches in inner diameter (measured over a ruller when closed) and 6 &1/2 inches in inner circumference when closed > please note they are oval and will fit up to size 6 & 1/2 wrist , the width of the bracelets is 7 mm, a little wider on the buckles. The bracelets are in very good well preserved condition for thier age , no enamel loss except 2 tiny dots on one bracelet - probably made like that, t are few dents inside the bracelets but no breakage > does not affect the front parts, the slide in clasps are in good working order and the safety chains intact. Rare and hard to find antique beauties . The streaks in the pictures are light reflections. Thanks ___________
