You are viewing a very attractive cup and saucer made in the 19th century. The pieces have no backstamp but have a pattern number 2/1598. The cup is a slightly fluted, shallow shape with a pretty gilded and feather patterned handle. The duo is decorated with an Art Nouveau style pattern in shades of green, pink and cream overlaid with elaborate gilding. The inside of the cup has gilded bands and flowers. Condition is very good with no chips or cracks, the colours are fresh and there is very little wear to the bright gilding. A charming, antique duo. Thank you for looking.
