Another beautiful and tranquil ANTIQUE/VICTORIAN OIL ON BOARD PAINTING"EVENING AMONG THE DOVEDALE HILLS"by LISTED BRITISH ARTIST, WILLIAM LAKIN TURNER 1867-1936. This painting is in excellent condition with no damage to the image, it is framed in a later contemporary ornate gold frame, framed size is 18ins x 14ins, board size is 14ins x 10ins. This painting typifies the work of WILLIAM.L.TURNER, he was renowned for his delicate and detailed paintings of the LAKE DISTRICT, SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS and WELSH SCENES and the DERBYSHIRE COUNTRYSIDE The painting is signed to the bottom left hand corner and also to the verso with the title. WILLIAM LAKIN TURNER 1867-1936 was an ENGLISH LANDSCAPE ARTIST. He was born in BARROW UPON TRENT, DERBY, his father was GEORGE TURNER the artist. WILLIAM LAKIN TURNER, studied under his father GEORGE TURNER and at the WEST LONDON SCHOOL OF ART. He exhibited hundreds of paintings including 14 at THE ROYAL ACADEMY, 4 at THE ROYAL HIBERNIAN ACADEMY, also at SUFFOLK STREET, LONDON, in BIRMINGHAM and elsewhere between 1900-1936. He exhibited over 300 paintings at the LAKES ARTISTS SUMMER EXHIBITION as well as 81 paintings at the annual exhibition at NOTTINGHAM CASTLE.
