~*~Hello and thank you for looking~*~ ~*~This buy it now is for this beatufiul piece of hand-woven roll of antique/vintage European hemp/linen roll measuring 14.76 feet by 21.25 inches wide ( 4.5 meters by 54cm wide)~*~ This is another extraordinary hand woven linen/hemp roll that is truly a textile treasure~This roll is wonderful and has a very open weave! The texture is coarser than normal and the tone is a wonderful wonderful oatmeal ~*~This roll would make extraordinary curtains, cushions, upholstery fabric~ you name it, really wonderful and rustic indeed! This roll is in lovely unused condition, t is some light storage marks that will wash ~*~This wonderful fabric has so many uses:STUNNING table runners~*~Upholstery, bedding, cushions, curtains,clothing, Roman Blinds, bags, ~ so many wonderful sewing projects~*~ ~ ~*~The woman weavers of yesterday would spend their evenings weaving these amazing rolls of linen. It took the average woman 1 night to weave 60 centimeters ( 24 inches) of linen ~*~ These rolls are 100% machine washable, on 40 or 60 celcius..if t is visible dirt, just add a bit of Oxywash! They are so easy to wash, simply spin dry then remove when wet. Roll the linen tightly and let sit overnight. In the morning unroll and allow to dry naturally~ this presses the linen and t is usually no need to iron ( unless you prefer it perfect). Pure linen or hemp rolls tend to have no shrinkage, the rolls with cotton tend to have some shrinkage. These rolls are tough and sturdy, built to last.....and last and last!! New Hemp can be soaked in water for 3 days and then washed on regular cycle to soften or one can use liquid fabric softener if desired. Most of my rolls don't tend to need any additional help with softening as they have a lovely texture as is~ These rolls are wonderful pieces of textile history~*~ Hemp is built to last for many many generations making it a lovely textile for creating family heirlooms~*~ All of my linen rolls are produced using natural fibers. Natural fibers have the irregularities and subtleties that are innt ...adding to their rustic charm~*~ These rolls are increasingly difficult to find as they have been used so extensively over the past 20 years.
