Talk about breathtaking! This beautiful Duck of Murano Sommerso Venetian Art Glass is a gorgeous millefiori mix of brown, yellow, orange, baby blue and green. Designed by Archimedes Seguso, one of the greatest glass artisans of 20th century for the World Famous French Restaurant La Tour D'Argent (The Silver Tower) in Paris (said to be the oldest restaurant in Paris), which is famous for it's duck entrees. The customers who ordered their signature duck entrees were given one of these glass ducks as a souvenir. These ducks have been featured in books like Leslie Pina's book, "Seguso Lace and Stone", and have sold for over twice what I have priced this one at. This would make a fantastic Christmas present for that collector of special or rare glass figurines.This duck is in near perfect condition, with some VERY light scratches on the bottom of the piece. No chips, cracks or repairs. The restaurant's name is etched on the bottom: "La Tour D'Argent". Colors are vibrant and would be perfect for a mid-century modern motif.Measurements: 5"T w 5"W and weighs approx. 2.5 lbs.
