US Advisors deploying to Vietnam in the early 1960s often opted to carry the M-3 or Thompson SMGs for close quarter jungle fighting. New web equipment was produced to carry the stick mags. This US Army Vietnam Special Forces Advisor three cell M-3/Thompson SMG ammo pouch is in excellent to near mint condition and is dated 1966. These pouches were produced for a very short amount time and so are a rare item to encounter today. We have shown a photo of a Special Forces trooper in 1963 briefing his team, the man second from the right can be seen wearing a similar 3 cell pouch for SMG stick mags.
