This is a set of the Limited Edition Original Palmer irons , still in the shrink wrap and box from the subcontracted Chinese manufacturer whom Palmer used to make them. These clubs were originally issued as part of a Limited Edition set which included a signed leather bound copy of Arnold’s autobiography, “A Golfer’s Life,” with James Dobson. The clubs were shafted with stiff (I think) steel shafts and leather grips, and came in a wooden display case. They sold, I am told, for $1400.. THESE ARE THE HEADS ONLY, NO SHAFTS! When the Palmer company went out of business, I bought the remaining, unshafted heads from that run of 1000. This is set 901/1000. I use a set of these myself, which I had shafted with Dynamic Gold shafts and Tour Wrap grips, and am using them now in place of my former favorites, Mizuno MP-14 clubs. Although these clubs are not forged, they are as soft as any forged club I have played (among several), and are easily bent to my preferred spec. (I am told the proprietary alloy for these clubs was called feryllium. I have not been able to confirm that, though I can confirm that these clubs feel solid, and soft.) These clubs were made to match Arnold’s specs from the early ‘60’s. They therefore are a club weak when compared to modern clubs- no need for a gap wedge! I did bend my personal set to match Mizuno’s MP-14
