This auction is for lot of arrow heads that come from the Delmarva Peninsula. DELMARVA Is DELAWARE, MARYLAND AND VIRGINIA on the East Coast of the United States between two large Bays--The Chesapeake Bay and the Delaware Bay. They are connected by THE C&D Canal. The many water ways on the Peninsula w Arrow Head points come from are The Choptank River, Nanticoke River,Wicomico River,Pocomoke River.These rivers all Run into the Bay on the west side of the Peninsula, called the Chesapeake Bay. The Indian name Big Water of Plenty. The MISSAPILLION River and the INDIAN River run into the Delaware Bay on the east side and out to the Anlantic Ocean. This is all within less than 30 miles of all 6 large rivers; 4 runing west and 2 runing east. T is no place in the world like this. The Indians used the rivers like highways and rode the tides up and down, to carry them east and west.. This area is sandy and flat. When the fields are tilled, the plows chip and crack the artifacts and they are mostly found after a hard rain. Most farms have a collection that has been picked up over the last 150 years or so, and handed down generation to generation. As a child, I picked up many myself.
