Up for auction is a fabulous and rare Banana Bob art nouveau necklace!! This antiqued silver "lay-out" necklace is 16" long. The drop of the necklace is made up of three sections of jointed silver pieces done in exquisite repousse with bold raised relief and lacy open decorative filigree work. The center section features a small cherub holding a bird. Hanging down off this piece are a large rectangle Swarovski crystal and multiple pearls and crystal navettes. The chain itself is done in a paperclip style with a large lobster claw clasp. Please look at the pictures!! Very hard to describe this stunning piece of Banana Bob jewelry!! Annie Venditti a former professional figure skater started Banana Bob in 1986. Everything in the line was made in Providence, Rhode Island. They used many imported component parts, for example, the rhinestones and many of the fancy stones are Swarovski of Austria!! Other stones are imported from various parts of Europe and the Orient. The majority of styles are brass with an antiqued finish or sterling silver plated brass. With the closing of the Providence Rhode Island factory, Banana Bob has become even more highly coveted and sought after. Their value will only continue to increase.
