New modified it to DCC. I have done several Atlas Classic RS1's and RS 3's using the new generation MRC decoders a MRC0001715 in this case and am very impressed with them and I am confident that when you watch the video of this one you will be too. I feel there are those in this hobby that may not or no longer have the ability, patience or desire to convert these wonderful older DC locomotives and they just don't exist otherwise in this configuration. So if I can make it happen for someone else I am a happy camper and as a disabled veteran I am busy doing something I love and constructive as well. I did a special video to show the inside of the shell and locomotive exposing the decoder, wires , speakers and lights. The video is on You Tube at choochoo3985. ATLAS CLASSIC RS1 C&NW WMRC1715 DCC DECODER These are complex conversions that take opening the top of the shell for the 3/4" MRC speaker, modification of the head and back light fixture, wiring the decoder in and selecting the correct speaker then as in this case modifying the speaker to fit as well while maintaining the prototypical appearance of this incredible locomotive. These new generation MRC decoders; an MRC0001715 in this case are very good in my opinion in both sound and operation.
