Australian Kangaroo 1 oz. Silver 2005Only 25,126 silver Kangaroos were minted in 2005! These incredibly rare, frosted coins are minted by the Royal Australian Mint, located in Canberra, Australia. The silver Kangaroo series began in 1993 and have become one of the only legal tender bullion series to change their design every year. Having a low mintage and a different design to look forward to annually, has spiked the interest of many coin collectors looking for a new series to begin. Every coin is guaranteed by the Commonwealth Government of Australia to be .999 fine silver. These coins are in brilliant uncirculated condition and are packaged in a mint issued capsule and card.Presented on the reverse of the 2005 Kangaroo is a lone kangaroo bouncing towards the left side of the coin. The kangaroo is small and lean in stature, while the Australian sun beaming behind encircles him. The stars featured on the coin are inspired by the constellations from Southern Cross, Australia. This coin also plays with the frosted and proof-like qualities known to grace the silver Kangaroo coins. The coin's denomination of "one dollar," and the coin's purity, "1 ounce fine silver," are neatly inscribed on the reverse as well.
