This auction is for an Authentic Models America’s Cup Columbia 1899 Wood Model Kit. This kit is made by Authentic Models Holland in Holland . It is 15 inches long and 16 inches high. The scale is 1:120. The set contains solid wood precarved hull, wood parts, and extensive plans. It is easy to build, no experience required. This kit is part of a collection of hundreds of Clipper ship kits that we will be listing ranging in vintage from the 1930’s to the present day. The extensive variety was put together by the consignor (an author on the history of Clipper Ships) to illustrate what had been available over the years to represent the evolution of the clipper ship. These were collected by the consignor to show the boxes and are preserved in shrink wrap. A few of them (especially the older ones), could be missing parts or partially built. We want to keep this collection preserved in the shrink wrap so we did not open them to inventory the parts. Most should be complete.
