Autographed 1940 Notre Dame vs Pacific University football program. At Notre Dame. A match-up of two legendary coaches; Amos Alonzo Stagg and Elmer Frank Layden. A fantastic program autographed by 35 Notre Dame players including All-American's Milt Piepul, Bob Dove, Steve Juzwik, Paul Lillis etc.. Other players that autographed the program are: Robert Osterman, Tom Gallagher, John Gubanich, Bob Saggau, Pete Kelly, George Rassas, Steve Bagarus, Bob Hargrave, John O'Brien, Jim Brutz, Henry "Cliff" Brosey, Walter O'Meara, Henry Schrenker, Al Lee, Joe Prokop, Gordon O'Reilly, Bob Leonard, Phil Sheridan, Tony Girolami, John Kovatch, Joe Laiber, Larry Sullivan, Richard O'Brien, Don Hogan, John "Jack" Hayes, Bob Maddock, George Murphy, Thomas Miller, John McHale, Tom Brock & Walter "Wally" Ziemba.Many of the signatures are personalized "To Joe DeFranco's Girl" or "To Joe's Girl". Joe DeFranco was Notre Dame's left guard from 1937-39. All signatures are in fountain pen. Some of the signatures along the top border have faded somewhat, all signatures are fully readable. The cover has creasing and light to moderate wear. The spine has light wear and is securely fastened to the staples. The inside pages are all in excellent condition. The program is 60 pages and measures a slightly oversize 8 3/4 x 11 1/2 inches.This is a one of a kind item
