AYNSLEY Pedestal CUP & SAUCER 1934-1939 Deep Garnet RED w/GOLD Fern Leaves #1542From our smoke-free home we have:A beautiful AYNSLEY Fine Bone China Pedestal CUP & SAUCER Striking Deep GARNET RED with GOLD Fern Leaves inside cup & Gold trim , Circa 1934-1939 from Staffordshire, EnglandDESCRIPTION: This superb quality china has colors that are bright and vivid. This is painted on a blank of high white fine bone china with gold trim on the edges and extensive gold fern leaves. The cup & saucer are tied together by the use of the same deep garnet red color and gold trim.CONDITION: While this set is classified as used, we can find no chips, nicks, rubbings, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. There appears to be absolutely no wear to the vivid color and no crazing. The lack of other utensil scratches attests to the high quality of the bone china. There is no wear to any of the gold trim. Both pieces are beautiful and classically decorated.DIMENSIONS: The saucer has a diameter of 5 13/16" and a height of 11/16". The pedestal cup has a diameter of 4" and stands 2 3/8" high while it is 2 3/4" to the top of the handle.HISTORY/MARKS: John Aynsley established his pottery in Longton, England in 1775 using local Staffordshire clay and elaborate designs.
