Hi and welcome,This auction is for this classy and very attractive oil burning stand lamp. The font is pictured in the "1883-1884 Bradley & Hubbard Illustrated Catalog of Kerosene Fixtures" on page 143 and the hand painted design on the glass stem is pictured on page 145 of the same book. The slender shaped glass stem sits on a three-tiered square iron base and has a white top and bottom with a light shade of blue in the middle and leaves of fall adorning. With brass end pieces and font collar that have a warm patina the Miller #2 Hinged burner fits right in with its coordinating hue as a pleasant bonus. The correct flair-lip based chimney is locked into the burner with a setscrew to make flipping the top to light the lamp a hassle free one step procedure. The font body is frosted with the top, bottom and pressed pattern of many images, clear. It stands just over 11" to the collar and 21" overall with the chimney in place. There were no flaws discovered although, at the bottom of the stem, there is a tiny color streak in the glass that looks like a small crack but further inspection found it only to be misleading because it doesn't go through to the other side. This is a very clean lamp ready for your pleasure.NOTE: You will be seeing a lot of things that we will be putting on here on eBay that came from an Antique Collector's Estate. read more
