This very beautiful St. Francis is from early in the last century. He retains about 90% of his original paint.The hands and birds are removable and two of the birds actually act as a locking mechanism to keep the hands on. T is one stress crack that goes down to front of the piece and some very slight cracking at the back of the head. A beauful piece and a hard piece to find at this size. NOTE: The round log base on which this piece sat and was originally carved from was removed to allow this item to be shippable by Parcel Post. The base is included in the price if you want it but must be shipped sepparatelly due to weight restrictions. The piece looks very nice without it and you can save dollar$ by not having the base shipped.Its your choice .
