WELCOME TO MY AUCTION BEE DEE STOCK MEDICINE CO. LetterheadStationery Chattanooga, Tenn. [Tennessee] If I read the Net correctly, the building is now part of St. Elmo's Historic District. The letter is dated September 19, 1930 and is addressed to my Grandfather. A bit of humor included since BEE DEE did not make the product requested. Mailed at a time before robots and when an incorrect addressed letter was correctly delivered regardless. Our address was not Third Street: it was Grand Avenue which was the same as First Street. Of course in 1930 Escondido's population was approximately 2,500 people, if that many. CONDITION: as shown and as originally folded and mailed. Closed tear to right, center, margin. Corners crinkled as are the margins. 8 1/4 X 11 All paper present. Paper is toned with the passage of time. BEE DEE manufactured stock and poultry medicine~ Down the left margin, boxes and one graphic: The old reliable Black-Draught for Stock & Pountry + Liniment + Healing Powder + Dip + Colic Medicine. Cute graphic cartoon of a sick pig, head wrapped in a towel, soaking its soar front feet and a rooster. Signed by J.R. Huff, Manager. The letter was typed by a secretary: JRH:NC Found on the net: ''James R. Huff was the manager of Bee Dee for many years.
