Hand made bit by legendary Pampa, Texas maker Billy Klapper. 7 1/4" cheek, 5 1/8" mouth with a 1 5/8" tall port with copper under the port. Silver on top and bottom rings, six silver stripes on each cheek. Hand cut and hand engraved. Natural patina. Marked " KLAPPER 488 " on the port. Little hard to read but I will stand behind it 100% as being t and being right. Weighs 16 ozs and balances as shown. This is an earlier bit, probably made before 1980. Klapper is one of, if not the most sought after maker today. One of only two makers featured in both " Bits & Spurs in the Texas Tradition " and " Bits & Spurs Techniques, Motifs and Modern Makers " by Ned and Jody Martin as well as numerous other books and magazines. He was awarded "1998 Spurmaker of the Year" by the Academy of Western Artist. NO RESERVE! Money order ships next day..checks must clear..$5 priority shipping + any insurance buyer may wish to add.
