Blue Danube china – Blue Onion pattern with Banner backstamp - Gravy Boat with Attached Underplate This piece was purchased in the early 60s and has the Banner backstamp. It has no chips, cracks, or flaws. Blue Danube was inspired by designs from the Chinese Yuan Dynasty period (1260-1368 A.D.). The flowers depict the ancient Chinese symbols of good fortune and happiness. The more collectable Banner backstamp was used from 1951-1976. It has the words Blue Danube in script on a ribbon banner with the words Reg. US. Pat. Off. underneath. The Rectangular Japan backstamp dates from 1977-1996. Blue Danube is no longer being manufactured at this time. This piece was priced at ½ of the largest china replacement retailer’s price.
