Bohemian Nouveau Secessionist Iridescent Pallme-Konig Kralik Style Art Glass I just purchased this Art Nouveau style iridescent glass vase from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The vase has a striking look characteristic of the Secessionist designs produced by a number of factories in Bohemia during the first quarter of the 20th century (similar designs were produced on a more limited scale in the US). The vase had a paper tag from the previous owners attributing it to Pallme-Konig, but this d�cor and form are not typical of P-K. I wasn't able to find the same d�cor in the Kralik or Rindskopf pages of and (please let me know if you can make a definitive attribution.) The vase shows an appropriate amount of fine contact wear on the underside foot ring for a vintage piece, I don't believe this is a "contemporary" studio piece. The vase has a striking design with fine feathering to the deep ruby ground. The surface is highlighted with bands of mottled blue / green frit veining. The piece is finished in a rich iridescent finish covering the interior and exterior surfaces. The vase measures 5 7/8" high, 6" in diameter and 5" across the top rim opening.
