BOSTON & SANDWICH FLINT CUT OVERLAY OIL LAMP c. 1865 . This cut overlay lamp stands 13" to the collar and 23 1/2" to the top of the chimney. The lamp is without any chips or cracks. The metal connector between the glass stem & font seems to have been restored or replaced. The foot/stem is opalescent glass and the font is cut overlay glass, white to a rich cranberry. Cut in a moorish window type design. This lamp has been electrified but can easily be returned to oil use, if desired, for NO drilling was done. Only the burner is electric and can be replaced with an oil use burner. Chimney & burner included in this auction.
