Big Knob Pedals "Echo Flex" Analog Delay - SHOEGAZE PERFECTIONRELISTED - The Echo Flex utilises the same processor used in MXR's Carbon Copy and other popular analog delay units. But unlike these commercially-produced pedals, it has been especially designed to be much more open, almost circuit-bent in its design, as demonstrated with the various modes of self-oscillation and glitching effects that can be easily obtained in the more extreme knob settings. At longer delay settings, incredibly lush, cavernous-like, ghostly-sounding delays appear to trail off like smoke into the audio ether; at the shorter settings, a brighter slapback feel creates a perfect setting for reggae or rockabilly. After hearing these beautifully warm, natural echo tones, reminiscent of the older tape-based Echoplexes and its more modern knock-off counterparts (namely Fulltone's Tube Tape Echo), you'll wonder how you had ever lived with the sterile, predictably boring digital cleanliness of your Boss DD-3s, et al.
