This is a beautiful multi color souvenir bowl from the 1909 Seattle Exposition. Made by the Adams Pottery Co. of Tunstall, Staffordshire England for the Bon Marche in Seattle Washington. This bowl is 1-3/4 inches tall and 8-3/4 inches in diameter. The foot ring is 4-1/2 inches in diameter. The colors of the interior are bright and clear in Red, Yellow and Black. In the center is a circle with - ALASKA - YUKON - PACIFIC EXPOSITION: SEATTLE 1909 -. In the center of the circle are three women. One woman in oriental dress is holding a Steam Ship, another holding a Gold Brick and the third is holding a Train Engine. The bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, flakes or cracks. There is some wear around the rim though. Some additional information on the exposition from Wikipedia; The Alaska–Yukon–Pacific Exposition was a world's fair held in Seattle in 1909, publicizing the development of the Pacific Northwest. It was originally planned for 1907, to mark the 10th anniversary of the Klondike Gold Rush, but the organizers found out about the Jamestown Exposition being held that year, and rescheduled. The fairgrounds became the campus of the University of Washington. The Exposition opened on June 1, 1909 and closed on October 16, 1909 with over 3,700,000 visitors. Shipping includes insurance.
