This one is finished with linseed oil mixed with oil paint and a light clear coat. It is number 376. I really like this one! Many years ago I met this man that had a broken face, broken nose, only one tooth, very meek and humble looking eyes, and just seemed to be a very humble person. I could tell that he had a very hard life. When I carved this piece of wood, I used his image that has been frozen in my mind all of these years. I've named this carving "A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief", which is based after the poem written by James Montgomery.
