These Civil War reproduction brass swivels are new. Most sword belts just have the leather hangers and in order to attach the sword or remove it, you must undo the leather at the brass button stud. If you attach these hooks to the leather hangers, then the sword clips on to these and t is no need to fight the leather. They will fit a leather piece up to 7/8" which should be a standard size.
