C. BRAU DELAGE CAR MASCOT / HOOD ORNAMENT “LEAPING GREYHOUND”, c. 1930 Dear customers, following inquiries of our customers we decided to start our auctions with a minimum-price, without reserve price , for all our items. We herewith follow the conventions of international auction houses and unrealistic start prices of US 1,00 for fine arts and antiques and works of art as well as for collector's items will not be used anymore ! This auction is for a very decorative and highly collectible signed hood ornament / car mascot in the shape of a greyhound dog graced the radiators of the 1928 Delage and the '31 Lorraine-Dietrich , made from finest chromed metal. This very beautiful designer piece is signed by the sculptor / artist C. Brau / CASIMIR BRAU o n one side of the base, whereas the other side shows the inscription “déposé” (trademarked). The design for this hood ornament was probably made around 1930. This car mascot is a true collector’s item for lovers of extravagant pieces and styles and is in great condition – and will therefore certainly more than meet your expectations!
