Ok, what is it? I have had this piece for nearly 10 years and it has sat in a closet since I bought. It measures nearly 25" high x nearly 14" wide. it weighs.... a whole lot! probably close to thirty pounds or more, I can't imagine it with a marble pedestal. The foot and the womans belly are ivory, and it's obvious the rest of her is missing. It is bronze, and it is signed on the back lower right corner DH Chiparus . The signature is deep in the base, and whether this thing is an authentic piece or not I will not even try to guess. I know nothing about its history, and can only tell you what I know and its all here in the description. It's a really cool sculpture, but it needs somebody that knows how to restore these kind of things to make it something spectacular. I feel the piece is much more than one of the cheap import knockoffs, but I'm no expert. I have not had this piece evaluated by anybody and can only tell you what I know and the pictures tell more than that. The patina is old looking on the stairs and the ladies body, but the green on her cloak is a little different. Buy it, you won't be dissapointed if you have the time and the connections or talent to bring it back to life.
