Brown and Read, Dorchester, Massachusetts 1 Gallon Decorated Merchant Jug Coming to you from Doc's Crocks, America's Source for Antique Stoneware , is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made for "Brown & Read, Dorchester." These gentleman were merchants from Dorchester, Massachusetts. The jug has similarities to those made by the Chace pottery of Somerset, Massachusetts. This beauty features a Squatty Short Form with Impressed Advertising and a Brushed Cobalt Leaf . Stands 10" tall. Excellent Condition. A minor chip on the left side of the spout (1/8"), two minor chips at the base (1/8", 1/4"), and some wear loss to the cobalt. That's it! No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A couple kiln touches and a hot spot on the back in the making. Please view the full gallery of pictures as part of the description.
