They have been a tourist attraction since the 18th century and were immortalized in a poem byRobert Burns,The Humble Petition of Bruar Water to the Noble Duke of Atholl, supposedly from the river itself entreating the Duke to plant some trees in the then barren landscape. Antique steel plate engraving on paper Total size approx 9.1/2 x 6inches Engraver: W.Miller Drawn by:David Octavious Hill 1802-1870 Publisher Blackie & Son (circa 1845) for The Complete Works of Robert Burns written by Allan Cunningham and Illustrated by W.H.Bartlett, T.Allom and other artists. Condition: Good withmargins This beautiful engraving is over 150 years old and in good condition with margins. The small ebay illustration does not show the fine quality and detail.
