This is a Self Contained Atmospheric Protective Ensemble ( S.C.A.P.E.) suit used in NASA's Apollo program. It came from the estate auction of the late Charles Bell on Merritt Island. It includes gloves, boots, and environmental control unit (ECU) backpack. The suit material is in very good shape with no punctures. The shield is in tact; no cracks and only very minor scuff marks. Boots and gloves are also in excellent shape. Contains parts of the communication system. The zipper slider on the front of the suit is stuck at the bottom and only attached to one side of the zipper. The air hose inside the suit has mostly deteriorated, leaving only the steel coil skeleton as pictured. The ECU is missing parts and its shell is cracked. Overall the suit is in excellent condition.
