i000000Two antique ambrotypes of what I think is an unidentified Quaker couple. He with his full white beard, her wearing a striking white bonnet. Likely from the Utica County/Cazenovia, NY, area.[No Photographer]. Circa 1855.2 sixth-plate ambrotypes (each measuring 3.25 by 2.75 inches), outer glass, matching brass mats and protectors; in matching half-cases, with metal clasps intact. I'm not sure if these were originally one double-case, but it's possible.Images are sharp and clean. The original cases have wear along spines, otherwise nice, clean condition.A striking couple. These ambrotypes are a part of a large family archive of daguerreotypes and ambrotypes of the Roderick & Lucy Blakeslee White family, and their children and extended family, including Aaron White and his family [for more about the family, see White, 'Memorials of Roderick White and his wife Lucy Blakeslee of Paris Hill, NY 1632-1892']. Many are identified and dated, from the 1840s, 1850s and early 1860s. Many are from the Cazenovia, New York and Oneida County area. We just acquired the archive, and will be offering the photographs over the next few weeks. We have been trusted sellers (and buyers)on eBay for more than a decade, and our feedback speaks for itself. We pack very carefully !And ship very quickly ! and please take a look at our other interesting books, read more
