Offered for your consideration is a fabulous 19c Chinese export silver drinking flask of quality design and workmanship signed by the artist. This silver flask was produced in China around c1890 and marked "SF 90" along with Chinese characters. The maker was Sing Fat of Shanghai on Silver street and worked exclusively in gold, silver and jewelry. The flask is of high quality workmanship still retaining fine details of hand chasing and hammering displaying the time consuming background stippling giving contrast to show off the repousse style work. T is a nice variety of flowers in different stages of bloom along with pairs of butterflies, the top lid screws nice & tight with ease and still holds liquids. T is a central shield cartouche on one side for monogramming but was left blank. Condition is excellent having a nice patina showing only two light pushes near the bottom edge which does not show easily and can be backed out nicely by a professional.
