A MOST BEAUTIFUL VICTORIAN C1893-4 BURGESS AND LEIGH " PAGODA" PATTERN TEAPOT WITH BLUE TRASFER AND HANDPAINTED GILDING DEPICTING A JAPANESE LADY IN TRADITIONAL COSTUME AND SUN SHADE SURROUNDED BY BAMBOO AND BANANA PLANTS A LAKE AND MOUNTAINS IN THE BACKGROUND, IT IS PRINTED IN BLUE ON THE BASE Rd SHAPE 223699 AND Rd No 225655 AND A RAISED LOZENGE MARKED Rd No 223699, INSIDE THE LID IS IMPRESSED 1880/82 B&L WHICH DATES THIS TO 1894, IT MEASURES 6 1/2" HIGH 9 3/4" HANDLE TO SPOUT AND 4 1/2" WIDE, IT HAS A TINY FIRING CRACK ON BASE OF SPOUT (photo 4) AND A OVAL MARK (a glaze bubble i think) ON THE LADIES SUN SHADE (photo 3) VERY LITTLE LOSS OF GILDING, OTHERWISE THIS IS A IMMACULTE TEAPOT WITH NO OTHER CHIPS, CRACKS, STAINS OR CRAZING.
