Czechoslovakia 239 on 1940 NY World's Fair Cover Nice, and quite scarce Registered, May 11, 1940 Opening Day of Czechoslovakia Pavilion at the 1940 N.Y. World's Fair, franked with Czechoslovakia, Scott #239; and block of special U.S. New York World's Fair stamp. Sheet has Green vignette of the Exhibit building between the stamps, and special World's Fair Red and Black World's Fair Overprint at top and bottom; and is tied to the cover by special "Opening Day" postmark. These sheets and covers were privately produced to finance the Czechoslovak Pavilion at the World's Fair. Cover is addressed to Guayaquil, Ecuador, and is a Great World's Fair Display Item.
